BREMEN, KY l Brooke Janine
The "Quad-State Supercell" tornado outbreak, which spanned 165 miles, left a trail of destruction across entire towns and communities. Through the night of December 10th and leading into the early morning of the 11th, this late-season event unleashed 11 tornadoes across Kentucky, including two EF-4s that tragically claimed 74 lives, with 11 of those fatalities occurring in Bremen. An EF-3 tornado struck just a few miles from our home in Pembroke, KY, prompting us to assist in the cleanup efforts in both affected areas. I brought my camera to Bremen to document the catastrophic aftermath of the storm. While words fall short of capturing the full extent of the devastation, the images provide a stark, albeit incomplete, glimpse into the profound impact of the disaster.
